Meet The Team

Kenny Lambert began his journey of sobriety on May 16, 2018, after battling addiction for over a decade. His commitment to recovery inspired him to create "Just A Dad From Akron," a positive and uplifting clothing brand that has grown into a global movement. Kenny now owns and operates a storefront at 937 Kenmore Blvd. in Akron, Ohio. Beyond being a retail space, his shop has become a hub for the community, a safe haven for kids, an inspiring place for adults, and a venue for weekly sober support meetings.

In addition to his work with the clothing brand, Kenny is the co-founder of The JADFA House, a nonprofit recovery community organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families on their recovery journeys. Through his brand and nonprofit, Kenny has become a symbol of hope and transformation in Akron and beyond. His dedication and impact have been recognized widely, including being featured in a 2023 Emmy Award-winning documentary by News Channel 5. He has also shared his story as a TEDx speaker and served as a keynote speaker for high school graduations, inspiring young people to believe in the power of change.

Kenny and his spouse, Kristi, are proud parents to two children: Amelia (7) and Harvey (born in June 2024). As a proud Kenmore native, he is deeply connected to the Akron community and is passionate about fostering collaboration to create meaningful change. He believes that when people work together for a greater purpose, Akron shines as one of the best places to live and work.

Kenny shares honestly about his past struggles, offering hope to others by showing that it is possible to overcome even the darkest moments. His favorite mantra, “No matter how far down you have gone, it’s never too late to turn your life around and change,” reflects his belief in redemption and hope.

In his free time, Kenny enjoys golfing and playing basketball, finding joy and balance in the activities he loves. If he weren’t running his successful brand and nonprofit, Kenny envisions himself working in a recovery or rehab facility or coaching youth sports, continuing his mission of inspiring and uplifting others.

Kristi Watson is the founding Executive Director of The JADFA House, a nonprofit recovery community organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families on their recovery journeys. Kristi is deeply committed to the mission of The JADFA House, where she oversees operations and plays an integral role in shaping its vision and impact on the community.

In addition to her role at The JADFA House, Kristi is the proud partner of Kenny Lambert and bonus mom to his daughter, Amelia (7), and their son, Harvey (born in June 2024).

Kristi plays a key role behind the scenes at Just A Dad From Akron, where she navigates the administrative side of the business. When she’s not managing the operations of the nonprofit or business, Kristi is often behind her camera at events, capturing the moments that bring joy to the community. As the owner of Power Photography LLC, Kristi loves to document the smiles and stories of those she meets, using her lens to highlight the positive and uplifting moments in people’s lives.

Kristi is passionate about building a supportive community, whether through her work at The JADFA House, her photography, or her role in her family.

Amelia Lambert is the 7-year-old daughter of Kenny Lambert and the true inspiration behind Just A Dad From Akron. Her birth was the catalyst that encouraged Kenny to embrace sobriety and become a present and dedicated father. Now in first grade, Amelia is a bright and creative young girl who loves crafts, dancing, and expressing herself through her imagination.

As the big sister to Harvey, Amelia enjoys helping care for him and takes pride in her role. When she’s not at school, you can often find her at the store, greeting visitors with her contagious smile and welcoming spirit, making everyone feel like part of the family at Just A Dad From Akron events. Amelia’s creativity, energy, and warmth embody the heart of the organization and the values it stands for.

Harvey Valentine Lambert was born in June 2024, a little fighter from the start. Arriving earlier than expected, Harvey proved his strength and resilience from day one. Despite his early arrival, he’s been growing stronger every day, filling the hearts of his family with pride and joy. Harvey’s journey is just beginning, but he’s already showing the world his determination and spirit.

Kirk Lambert (The original Dad From Akron) Kenny's dad is often a "behind the scenes" type of guy but he is definitely the glue that helps hold us all together. Whether it's helping with maintenance at the store, helping to grill out for the free food events, offering words of encouragement or just being an awesome dad you can count on Kirk to brighten your day!
In Memory of Sebastian Spencer
July 12, 2000 - February 21, 2021
Sebastian was a proud company representative for Just A Dad From Akron before he was taken too soon. He had a huge heart for serving others, and genuinely wanted to change the world.
Sebastian's title was "company representative" but he was so much more than that. From his help with remodeling the storefront, organizing events, handing out over 1000 Christmas presents to families in need, or even helping to sling hotdogs at the Back to School event, He was such a humble person who would do whatever he could to lend a helping hand. He had no shame in helping others in any way big or small. Sebastian became a father in December of 2020 and he was so incredibly proud to be a dad to his little boy Kai!
We can guarantee that if you met Sebastian you would've become instant friends because this kid had a heart of gold.
You didn't have to know Sebastian to be inspired by his story of sobriety, growth, and drive to be the best person he could be....He will be missed by so many!
Until we meet again.....You are always loved Sebastian!
